Shenzen’s world’ largest #wastetoenergy plant

This competition winning design will create a new Waste to Energy Plant that will incinerate a third of the waste generated each year in Shenzhen East with a population of 20 million, comsuming around 5000 tonnes of waste per day.

The design team have designed the facility to also educate the local population about the benefits of waste to energy.

The roof will be covered by 44,000 sqm of photovoltaic panels that will create renewable energy as part of the overall energy strategy for the city.
